A behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a virtual assistant. In today’s interview we talk to Marg, our bookkeeping expert, on her perspective on life as a VA.
Originally a client as part of the executive committee for an organisation we work with, Marg reached out asking about switching from working with us, to working for us. A lucky day for our team! Marg handles all our Xero work internally, and for a number of our clients.
Without further ado … meet Marg!
A 'normal' day for Marg looks like this:
7.00am
Coffee to kickstart my brain before I do “anything”.
8.00am
9.15am
Blood pumping time.
Later that day:
Now charged and ready to go – another check of emails and then move on to what I have scheduled for today. I have specific client time across the week for routine work across 4 clients and any ad hoc tasks I may have taken on.
The exception is for end of month/beginning of month work which I then tackle across the week for 2 specific clients.
Early afternoon I get outside, wander the garden or go for a walk, get some lovely Nelson sunshine, and take on sustenance.
By the afternoon my off-shore client will be at her desk so an email and Whats App check to see if there is anything required today.
The rest of the day is flexible for my own work, or if that needs to be undertaken in the morning then any movable YVA client work will be attended to during the afternoon.
