Thanks for filling in our survey. Now it’s onto the tests.

Remember, you only need to complete the tests that match your skillset.

We’re all about you working in your zone of genius and we’ll pair you up with clients and assign you projects, where you shine.

These scenarios are based on actual project briefs we receive from clients. Please treat them as you would a billable client task.

If you’re all about improving we absolutely support that. We can supply training resources for you to work through in your own time and will reassess when you’re ready.

At the end of the tests, you’ll have a chance to upload your portfolio or any other supporting documents you want us to see. We know good things can take time so there’s two weeks between sending in your application and the deadline to submit your tests.

Inbox Zero

You’ve just started working with a new client who has 650 emails in her inbox (read and unread). She needs your help to get a handle on organising her inbox, with a goal of no more than 20-30 emails daily that only she can respond to. Aside from you as her general VA, she has a tech VA, a social media VA ,and a finance manager.

What steps would you take to achieve this goal over the next 3 months?

Word Document Formatting

Your client has a 45 page Word document she would like you to proof, edit, format and improve the visual look and feel.

Write a general checklist of all the things you will review and improve in the document (e.g. spelling/grammar).
Draft an email to a team member requesting she quality control your finished work.
Include a quality control checklist.
Explain why this quality control step is important.

PowerPoint Presentation

Your client is giving a presentation next week for which she has given you her rough draft notes. She wants you to create an appealing Powerpoint Presentation that will run no longer than 30 minutes. You are meeting with the client tomorrow to discuss the project.

Write a list of the questions to ask your client to obtain a clear project brief before you start work on the project.
Explain why this project brief step is important.
Create a first draft of the presentation in PowerPoint.

Draft a detailed, step by step process for creating and delivering the following monthly client newsletter.

Your client would like to start sending out a monthly newsletter to the 300 clients in her membership program. She has asked you to document the process for this new client newsletter.

Your client would like the newsletter to include:

an intro/update from her
upcoming calls/events
a monthly marketing tip (1-3 paragraphs)
member discount offers
member feature (highlighting a new client each month)

Her business is coaching, she teaches branding and marketing via her group programs and membership.

Her team consists of:

Tech VA who handles website & Kajabi
a customer service VA
a social media manager who is also the community/membership coordinator.

The key systems in the business are: WordPress website, Kajabi, Asana, Google Suite, Zoom, Facebook group.

Email Marketing

Complete the following:

Create a new free Mailchimp account (or use an existing one if you already have your own account).
Create a new list and add the following subscriber to your list: people.yourva@gmail.com
Create a template using one of our blog articles as your content and Your Virtual Assistant as the sender. Your target audience is owners of professional service provider businesses who are struggling with overwhelm and want to scale their business.
We’d love to see your creativity here so set up your template in a style/format that you think connects best with our target audience.
Once you’re done, set up a campaign using the template and send the test to the list you set up from your name and application email address.
